Sail Chicago makes sailing affordable, accessible and fun by functioning solely through the cooperative efforts of its members. Sail Chicago members own every part of the process from scheduling and organizing, to teaching, technology, and maintenance. Lasting friendships are the result of working together to build a thriving organization where sailing in only half the fun.

Sail Chicago is a not-for-profit volunteer-run community sailing program that seeks and welcomes membership as diverse as the city itself. Its mission is to offer quality instruction in sailing and boating safety in an equitable and inclusive environment, and to provide affordable sailing opportunities to its members and others in the Chicago area.
Despite having more than 350 members, 15 boats, a fully developed sailing instruction program for all levels of sailing, a racing program, community sailing outreach programs, maintenance crews, social sailing events, member meetings and being an accredited US Sailing school, there's not a single paid staff member. Consider donating to help us continue to expand our organization, and help bring sailing within reach for more Chicagoans.
