Sail Chicago makes sailing affordable and accessible by functioning solely through the cooperative efforts of its members. Sail Chicago members own every part of the process, from scheduling and organizing to teaching, technology, and maintenance. Lasting friendships are the result of working together to build a thriving organization where sailing is only half the fun.

Sail Chicago is a nonprofit, community-run sailing program that seeks and welcomes a membership as diverse as the city itself. Our mission is to offer quality instruction in sailing and boating safety in an equitable and inclusive environment, and to provide affordable sailing opportunities to our members and the broader Chicago community.
With more than 350 members, 15 boats, a fully developed sailing instruction program for all levels, a racing program, community outreach, maintenance crews, social events, member meetings, and accreditation as a US Sailing school — all run entirely by volunteers — we invite you to consider donating to help us continue to grow and bring sailing within reach for more Chicagoans.
